Well, it's time for the What's On Your Nightstand? Carnival over at 5 Minutes for Books, again.
This month I have read mostly from two authors. I finished the Yada Yada Prayer Group series and I finished up Homer Hickam's Coalwood memoirs. The only time I strayed from those two authors was to read a book about the kidnapping of Shawn Hornbeck that came into the library. I had had it on reserve for quite awhile and knew that I was probably not the last one on the long list, so I had better read it quick!
Having finished those two series, and having already read the book for next month's book discussion (A Year Without "Made in China"), I found myself at a bit of a loss as to where to go next! But, then I remembered that I had started to read Wild at Heart somewhere along the line, as the same time as another book, but then got swept up in the Coalwood books and didn't finish it. So, that is what I am reading now. Wild at Heart came to me free for some reason. I am not sure if it came as part of my HSLDA membership or what, but it just showed up here one day awhile back. I have been hearing about it a lot lately from various friends, and it really sounded like something I needed to read at this time in my life. Not sure what I will pick up after that.

Is Wild at Heart that Christian book for guys?
Thanks for sharing. I've always wanted to read the "Yada Yada" series but just haven't. I think it would definitely be one of those library reads and not something I would purchase to keep.
We lived in Illinois, just east of St. Louis, when Shawn Hornbeck was kidnapped. I didn't realize there was a book out. What did you think of it?
I am reading The Cat Who... series in between other things too. I saw that when I clicked to read your Yada Yada review.
Great list. Thanks again for sharing.

Yes, Wild At Heart is a christian book for boys/men.
The Shawn Hornbeck book is Invisible Chains. Click the link in my summer reading list for my thoughts on that book.
Gotta love it when books just show up free in the mail and you don't remember where!
Thanks for joining in the carnival.
